Canton of Vaud receives approval for e-voting 02.10.2018

On 28 September 2018, the Federal Council authorized the Canton of Vaud to run an electronic voting trial. Vaud will use CHVote, the system from the Canton of Geneva.

The authorization is valid for all referendums until the ballot on 24 November 2019. In the trial period, e-voting will be restricted to Swiss citizens resident abroad.

Are e-voting results verifiable?

Thanks to universal verifiability, voters and electoral authorities have full control at all times over the votes cast and can reliably detect any manipulation.
